A few weeks ago I left my full-time job as a forensic video analyst to run this thing full-time. Film Dweeb, Terminal City Collectibles, and the original film and writing work under Watson Street Pictures all feed into each other, and I wanted to give each of them my full attention.
To mark the first real step, I rode my bike from Science World out to Bosa on Victoria Drive, stopped on the water, and talked through why I did it. It’s a casual vlog, shot on a DJI Osmo Pocket 3, and it’s the first of a regular behind-the-scenes series.
The short version is that it felt like now or never. I talked it over with my wife, and we decided to go for it. The tools available now, AI in particular, mean one person can do a lot of what used to need a whole team. I’m not pretending that makes it easy. I’m still working out the schedule, the workflow, and what actually earns its keep.
I’ll keep showing the parts that work and the parts that don’t. If you’re thinking about making a similar jump, or you’re building something of your own, I’d like to hear what’s holding you back.
